‘Family Guy’ Hulu Christmas Special Sets Premiere Date

As a film enthusiast with a penchant for animated comedies that span decades, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgic excitement about the upcoming “Family Guy” Christmas special, “Gift of the White Guy,” premiering on Hulu on Nov. 25. Having grown up with the Griffin family, it’s fascinating to see them evolve over the years, from their early days on Fox to their current status as a television mainstay.

The “Family Guy” Christmas special at Hulu has set its official premiere date.

The unique production titled “Gift of the White Guy” is set to debut on Hulu on November 25th. This will be the second out of two exclusive Hulu specials for “Family Guy,” following the October 14th Halloween special named “Peter, Peter Pumpkin Cheater.

In this episode, Peter needs to retrieve Lois’ Christmas brooch as he accidentally gave it away during a game of ‘White Elephant.’ Meanwhile, Stewie alters his behavior when he discovers he’s on Santa’s list of naughty children.

The lineup for the exclusive event features Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Mila Kunis, and Arif Zahir.

Besides MacFarlane, the series is also overseen by executive producers Rich Appel, Alec Sulkin, Steve Callaghan, Tom Devanney, Danny Smith, Kara Vallow, Mark Hentemann, Patrick Meighan and Alex Carter. Notably, Appel and Sulkin are the showrunners for “Family Guy,” with 20th Television Animation being the production studio responsible for the series.

Previously, “Family Guy” has been recognized with an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series – a remarkable achievement since it’s only the second animated television show ever to receive such recognition. The series is masterminded by Seth MacFarlane, who not only conceived the idea but also lends his voice to several characters in the show. Among these are Peter Griffin, Stewie Griffin, Brian Griffin and Glenn Quagmire, voiced by none other than Mr. MacFarlane himself.

The American animated sitcom “Family Guy” marked its 25th anniversary this year, since it first aired on Fox in January 1999. Despite being canceled after three seasons, the show found new life with reruns on Adult Swim and robust DVD sales, which led to its revival by Fox in 2005. Today, “Family Guy” is a staple of television and one of the longest-running and most beloved animated series ever produced.

In 2021, MacFarlane received an Emmy nomination for the best character voice-over performance. He won the Emmy Award for this category in 2019. Previously, he had been nominated in 2018 and from 2013 to 2015. He also took home the Emmy Awards in 2017 and 2016 in the same category. Similarly, Borstein, who voices Lois Griffin, won the Emmy Award for best character voice-over performance in 2018. She was also nominated in 2024 in this same category.
