Mark Cuban invades Pokimane stream to put an old rumor to rest

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the recent turn of events involving Mark Cuban and Pokimane has left me both amused and intrigued. The world of streaming has always been a fascinating blend of entertainment, charity, and the unexpected, but this particular incident takes the cake!

I, personally, hopped onto Pokimane’s stream to clear up a misconception – I didn’t put in a charitable bid for a gaming session with her, as some rumors suggested.

In one of the strangest crossovers we’ve seen in streaming, Mark Cuban has shown up to a Pokimane stream. Partnering up with fellow content creator Valkyrae, Pokimane has hosted a chat with Senator Bernie Sanders on Twitch.

Before I stepped into the stream, it had already welcomed stars like Sykkuno (VTuber), Mark Hamill, and Mark Cuban, the Dallas Mavericks owner and investor. During our chat, Mr. Cuban took the time to address a query that had been floating around for some time.

At CDawgVA’s annual charity auction last year, a gaming session with Pokimane attracted some extremely high bids, one of which was a $200,000 offer made under the name Mark Cuban. However, during a live stream on Sanders, Mark Cuban himself clarified that he did not make the bid.

As a devoted fan, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of excitement when Pokimane brought up the $200k bid for a gaming session with none other than Mark Cuban. But alas, he graciously denied it, saying “you know it wasn’t me because it wasn’t high enough.” Oh well, guess I’ll have to keep dreaming! 😭😭

Cuban firmly declared, ‘That wasn’t me.’ He added a softer note to his statement. ‘I would have spent any amount of money. You realize it couldn’t have been me since the bid was too low.’

It’s clear that Cuban’s net worth, approximately $5.7 billion, validates his lavish bids in the charity auction. One spectator remarked, “I can’t fathom spending money to play a video game with someone.” Similarly, some users on X quipped that Cuban was secretly a lower-tier supporter of Pokimane’s streaming platform.

After the charity stream hosted by CDawgVA, it became clear that numerous extravagant offers for gaming sessions with Pokimane were actually false. Some of these offers, worth up to half a million dollars, were made using stolen credit cards.

With a winning bid of $30,700 for Pokimane, it’s highly likely that Mark Cuban’s bid was among those. Notably, Claudia Moneta, a VTuber and Twitch streamer, donated an impressive $68,200 at the event. Maybe, if Mark Cuban himself is available, he could participate in the next auction.
