Trevor Donovan Joins ‘When Hope Calls’ at Great American Family

As a seasoned movie enthusiast with a soft spot for heartwarming family dramas and a penchant for western settings, I can’t help but feel a flutter of excitement at the news that Trevor Donovan has joined the cast of “When Hope Calls.” With his rugged charm and proven acting chops, Donovan is sure to bring depth and authenticity to the role of Constable Jim Reynolds.

The “When Calls the Heart” clan is expanding. Actor Trevor Donovan has been added to the cast of the spinoff series, “When Hope Calls,” on the Great American Family channel.

Donovan will portray the role of Constable Jim Reynolds, a seasoned Mountie stationed in Clearwater. According to Great American Media, Reynolds is described as a robust individual who’s adept at horseback riding and outdoor activities. He is recognized for his commanding presence and field abilities.

The character first makes an appearance in the third episode of Season 2, which resumes after the initial two Christmas episodes aired in Dec. 2021. This episode takes place when Michael and Nora visit him to collect a child he is looking after. Subsequently, this character will reappear in another episode later in Season 2. The new episodes will be broadcasted first on Great American Family, then available for streaming on Pure Flix. In Canada, viewers can catch “When Hope Calls” on Super Channel.

Donovan might continue with his current position since Great American Media intends to broaden the world of “When Calls the Heart,” which is inspired by the book series penned by Janette Oke.

Season 2 introduces actors such as Cindy Busby portraying Nora, Christopher Russell playing Constable, Mountie Michael, Nick Bateman as Wyatt, Wendy Crewson representing Tess Stewart, Hanneke Talbot in the role of Maggie Parsons, Morgan Kohan as Lillian Walsh and Ryan-James Hatanaka taking on Mountie Gabriel.

The series ‘When Hope Calls’ revolves around a town’s orphanage and its resilient inhabitants who strive to establish a hopeful, faith-based community in a frontier town on the brink of change, all while caring for their children. The upcoming season consists of eight episodes, with the premiere episode celebrating the romance between Lillian and Mountie Gabriel as new characters join the cast.

In my perspective, “When Hope Calls” is masterfully crafted under the leadership of Brad Krevoy, Don McDonald, Alfonso Moreno, David Anselmo, and a team from All Canadian Entertainment and Hideaway Pictures. It’s David Anselmo who skillfully guides us through this production, while Alfonso Moreno pens the heartfelt script as its showrunner.
