As a seasoned Warzone player with countless hours under my belt, I must admit that the current close-range meta in Season 6 has been quite the challenge. The usual SMG suspects have been my go-to for tight quarters combat, but it seems like the game has thrown us a curveball with an unexpected contender: the DG-58 LSW.
In Warzone Season 6, the up-close combat meta has become incredibly challenging due to its high level of competition. However, some of the top submachine guns are struggling to keep pace with an unexpected light machine gun, which was previously the most powerful weapon in the game.
In intense hand-to-hand battles within Warzone, many players prefer using Submachine Guns (SMGs) due to their high rate of fire and short time-to-kill (TTK). This season offers a variety of choices, such as the Superi 46 or the enhanced HRM-9.
However, enthusiasts might find it hard to believe, but among all LMGs, it’s the DG-58 LSW that truly stands out, particularly when it comes to time-to-kill speed.
In a video posted on September 29th, Call of Duty expert WhosImmortal scrutinized the statistics of a particular weapon, and after comparing it with other popular choices in the game, the difference was quite evident.
With the JAK Nightshade Rifle Kit attached, your LMG becomes a nimble Submachine Gun (SMG). The DG-58 boasts a Time To Kill (TTK) of 632ms, effective up to 12 meters. This speed surpasses both the Superi 46 and Static-HV, and it’s only outmatched by the BP50 Assault Rifle in terms of swiftness.
It’s matched evenly by the Striker in the mid-range, but while the other options fall off at longer distances, the DG-58 kills in under 850ms at around 50 meters. This is nearly a full second faster than its nearest rival.
WhosImmortal recommended not missing out on the DG-58 upgrade. He found it to be excellent and highly enjoyable,” he mentioned prior to suggesting his preferred setup:

You might remember the DG-58 LSW from Warzone Season 3, where it was comfortably the best long-range weapon in the entire game. However, after dominating matches for many weeks, it was nerfed in Season 4 and has been all but forgotten ever since.
Equipped with the JAK Nightshade Rifle Kit, it seems poised for a revival as an effective close-range choice in Season 6.
