New Deadlock anti-cheat turns hackers into frogs as punishment

As a long-time player of Deadlock, I can say that this new anti-cheat feature has revitalized my enthusiasm for the game. For far too long, cheaters have been a thorn in our side, ruining matches and making it difficult to enjoy the game. But now, with the addition of the “Frog of Shame,” we can finally take back control!

In a fresh approach to combating cheaters, the latest Deadlock anti-cheat system transforms unscrupulous players into harmless frogs during gameplay, rendering them completely ineffective against their opponents.

Since its unveiling, Deadlock has lacked an effective anti-cheat system compared to how commonly it’s employed in other Valve games like VAC. Consequently, this oversight led to a wave of cheaters invading the new hero-shooter MOBA without any method for reporting them.

Fortunately, during the September 12th update, Deadlock implemented a reporting system. Yet, this feature doesn’t offer any hacking options; instead, it focuses on monitoring and dealing with harmful or toxic players.

In summary, following several months of early access, Deadlock will finally implement a robust anti-cheat system, and players will have the option to retaliate against cheaters who are detected.

Guys do you ever get this weird glitch in deadlock

According to Deadlock’s update on September 26, during a game if a hacker is identified, players will be presented with two options.

Teams have two options: they can swiftly expel the cheater, thereby concluding the game, or, if you prefer them to experience consequences, you could transform them into a frog for the remaining duration of the match instead.

Incidentally, when developers refer to someone as a frog, it’s not just a figure of speech. In this case, the cheater will be transformed into an actual small frog. As a frog, your actions are limited to hopping around without the ability to cast spells or inflict damage.

Even though deceivers may continue to be targeted by enemies throughout the game, don’t be shocked if you find yourself evading them like a hunter stalking frogs for the remainder of the contest.

If you’re concerned about potential losses due to the punishment of a cheater on your team, there’s no need to worry as developers have confirmed that such actions won’t impact the final score at all.

Regardless of the strategy the adversaries adopt – whether it’s an immediate expulsion or prolonged torment aimed at the hacker – neither scenario will be recorded as a defeat; instead, the hacker will always be banned in both cases.

Regarding its release timing, the developers mentioned that it’ll become accessible shortly following the update. This new feature falls under Valve’s advanced “v2 anti-cheat system,” which boasts superior efficiency compared to its predecessor.
