Call Of Duty: Warzone Removes Several Popular Battle Royale Playlists

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of Call of Duty under my belt, I must confess, I’m feeling a tad jaded by the recent announcement regarding Warzone’s playlist consolidation. It seems like the good old days of weekly rotations are behind us, and while I understand the need for preparation for the future, I can’t help but miss the variety that used to be on offer.

Currently, Call of Duty: Warzone is on its last season (the sixth one) in conjunction with Modern Warfare 3. The game’s creators have shared that playlist choices will be reduced temporarily, as they are working towards integrating the battle royale mode with Black Ops Cold War by the end of this year.

Typically, the gameplay selections in Warzone shift every week, providing a blend of solo, duo, trio, and quad matches. Occasionally, all choices were accessible, while at other times, playlists like duos or solos would be temporarily unavailable for a week. However, this pattern is set to change as Raven Software has announced the consolidation of Warzone’s Resurgence modes and standard battle royale playlists, resulting in fewer selection options for players.

For the standard battle royale on Urzikstan, players will find that weekly playlist rotations have been replaced with solo and quad playlists. Additionally, Resurgence maps will be available exclusively for duo and quads. Consequently, those wishing to participate in Warzone as a trio must opt for the competitive Ranked Play mode. Notably, the final season of Ranked Play concludes on October 17.

Raven Software didn’t provide a clear explanation for the consolidation or why these specific playlists were eliminated, but they hinted at it being part of their preparations for the future of Warzone. They promised to share more information about this development later on.

Furthermore, it’s been verified that games like Plunder, Bootcamp, and temporary special modes continue to stay accessible. The ongoing season, specifically Season 6, offers an engaging sandbox-type gameplay called Purgatory which is set to run in Warzone till October 16.

In Warzone, the current playlist selections will stay until around the end of this year when it combines with Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War. This first season is expected to add the Area 99 Resurgence map to Warzone, while Urzikstan will continue to provide a large-scale gaming experience.

On October 25th, the latest installment of Call of Duty: Black Ops (number 6) will be released on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Be sure to keep an eye out for all the major updates regarding Black Ops 6, which include campaign specifics, round-based Zombies, and Treyarch’s innovative omnimovement system.
