James Paxton, Emily Tosta, Malcolm McDowell to Star in Psychological Horror ‘Dirt’ (EXCLUSIVE)

As an avid fan of both psychological horror and compelling character-driven narratives, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming film “Dirt.” Starring James Paxton and Emily Tosta, this movie promises to deliver a gripping tale of love, addiction, and the dark corners of the human psyche.

James Paxton from ‘Twisters’ and Emily Tosta of ‘Mayans MC’ will lead the cast for the upcoming psychological horror movie titled ‘Dirt.’ Principal photography for the film, helmed by director Cosmos Kiindarius, commences in November in New Mexico.

The movie boasts a distinguished ensemble of supporting actors, such as Owen Vaccaro (from “The House With a Clock in Its Walls”), Courtney Gaines (“Back to the Future”), Heather Langenkamp (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”), and Malcolm McDowell.

As per the statement, this intriguing mix of romantic elements, psychological terror, and substance dependency explores the depths of love and the hidden recesses within the human psyche.

Dirt” trails Sammy (Paxton) and Marisol (Tosta), a troubled pair setting off on a drive from Miami to Los Angeles, hoping for a new beginning. However, their trip takes a darker path when they inadvertently strike a mysterious desert creature, awakening a potent curse that ties their destinies to motifs of addiction and desolation. As they grapple with their pasts and the consequences of their actions, the road before them grows increasingly treacherous and uncertain.

Kiindarius commented, “Just like the multi-layered painted desert it’s set within, ‘Dirt’ is thematically complex. It delves into the common human journey of rediscovering love after suffering and the insidious allure of our own thoughts that may lead to self-destruction.

It is produced by Salomé Breziner and Kiindarius.

Breziner stated, “This chilling thriller subtly combines elements of magical realism with intense, gut-wrenching feelings. We can’t wait to guide viewers through this suspenseful, dark adventure.

Paxton is managed by Dan Green at Green Management, while Anne Woodward handles him at Authentic. Tosta is under the management of Michael Greene at Greene Talent. Vaccaro is represented by Margot Menzel from Luber Roklin Entertainment and Trina Allen at Play Management. McDowell’s representation falls under Chris Roe Management.
