The best weapons in Brotato – Tier list
In the game Brotato, there are 51 different weapons for players to select from as they progress through the levels. Initially, you’ll begin with less powerful options such as a pistol or a wooden plank, but don’t worry because you won’t be stuck using them forever. The objective is to survive each wave for long enough so that you can upgrade your weapon!

As a seasoned Brotato gamer, let me tell you that top-tier weapons are my go-to choice for smashing through waves. Once you’ve got the hang of things in this game, an S-tier weapon can help you breeze through each wave with minimal health drain. If luck smiles on you and an S-tier weapon appears after a wave, don’t hesitate to grab it – it’ll boost your power like nothing else!
Among all top-tier weapons, I prefer the basic Fist. This weapon is already at your disposal from the very beginning of the game, regardless of whether you’ve yet to unlock any subsequent Brotatoes. If you choose the Brawler class, select the Fist as your weapon, and let loose on your adversaries. In my experience, fists are quite prevalent, allowing for swift leveling up instead of relying on chance to acquire another one once a Wave concludes.
Another good choice is the Double Barrel Shotgun, which has beautiful damage potential.
A-tier weapons in Brotato
In simpler terms, weapons of grade A aren’t quite as spectacular as the top-tier weapons, but they are reliable and will help you survive the challenges (provided you have enough experience to develop your own playstyle and strategy). If you find any A-grade weapons along the way, pick them up to add variety to Brotato’s inventory while you keep looking for better ones.
Even before you acquire additional Brotatoes, you can already select the Knife as a starting weapon. This makes it an ideal option for beginners. The Knife functions as a ranged weapon, allowing you to maintain a safe distance during battles, which is crucial when your health is low and time is running out. Upgraded knives have assisted me in completing multiple Waves within Brotato.
B-tier weapons in Brotato
Mid-ranked weapons, as classified in this ranking system, represent a balanced choice. They’re not exceptional, but they certainly aren’t poor. These weapons offer solid performance and can assist you in navigating some tricky predicaments. They often boast effective abilities, reasonable range, and unique stats that augment your battles with adversaries. Newcomers can expect to find a good selection of these weapons either before embarking on an adventure or during the initial stages following several Waves. To make the most of these specialized weapons, choose a Brotato character who aligns well with them – the Ranger or Brawler would be ideal matches.
The Crossbow is an impressive choice among mid-tier weapons in the Brotato arsenal. It boasts a longer than average range for a basic weapon, a swift reload time, and a feature that can expedite your foe’s defeat – when it lands a critical hit, the Crossbow penetrates once, and there’s a 30% probability of such a strike being critical. As a Ranger Brotato, this could be an ideal starting weapon for you.
C-tier weapons in Brotato
In simpler terms, C-grade weapons aren’t fantastic, but they’re not completely useless either. It’s essential to evaluate each one individually during your gameplay to determine if it will prove beneficial for you. These weapons can indeed be useful in specific circumstances, but I wouldn’t rely on them throughout the entire game. Whenever possible, trade your C-grade weapons for B-grade or higher ones.
Many gamers might argue about where the Obliterator should be positioned, but raw power doesn’t always equal effectiveness. Some users have categorized this potent weapon as D-tier, yet I believe it’s not nearly as worthless as they suggest. The problem with the Obliterator lies in its accessibility compared to weapons in higher tiers. It’s an award that players receive after completing a run at the highest level and unlocking the Demon Brotato, followed by another run using this Brotato.
It does have one of the highest damage counts in the game, but the effort to get to it puts it further down on my tier list. The Laser Gun is a better option from the weapons in this tier, if only because players can access it right from the start of a game.
D-tier weapons in Brotato
These are the pointless weapons. If you can avoid them, do. Don’t choose them at the start of a Wave run, and don’t pick them up. From my experience, you’re more likely to die earlier on during your run with D-tier weapons because their balance is awful.
As a gamer, I’d say it like this: The Thief Dagger might seem superior at first glance with its base damage of 6 and a 20% chance for a critical hit, surpassing the Lightning Shiv’s 3 damage and 5% critical hit rate. But the real kicker lies in the fact that while the Thief Dagger deals consistent damage, the Lightning Shiv adds an electrifying touch by bouncing lightning between enemies. The Thief Dagger, on the other hand, doesn’t have any special effects, just a chance to net a single material when defeating foes – something that feels more like a consolation prize than a true advantage.
