You can watch Vince McMahon’s terrible No Holds Barred movie for free now

As a gamer with a deep-rooted appreciation for both wrestling and cheesy action movies from the ’80s, I must confess my initial excitement upon learning that I could stream “No Holds Barred” for free on Tubi. However, after some research and reflection on my life experiences, I find myself questioning this decision.

If you’re looking for something entertainingly cheesy from the late ’80s, Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan’s notoriously awful movie “No Holds Barred” can be streamed for free on Tubi. Perfect if you’ve got some spare time!

Previously known WWE leader has resurfaced prominently due to the Netflix documentary titled “Mr. McMahon,” which delves into his journey, successes, and setbacks within the wrestling world – including claims of sexual exploitation and abuse that led him to relinquish control over the company.

Nevertheless, while the docu-series does touch upon these topics, it primarily emphasizes the journey of McMahon in building the WWE into a dominant force in the entertainment industry, using aggressive strategies, insightful vision, and stirring up debates throughout the first half of its six-episode run.

To seize any opportunity for profit and ensure Hulk Hogan didn’t transition to acting in films, McMahon proposed an idea: why not collaborate on a movie instead?

The end product was “No Holds Barred,” an action-packed film featuring Hogan in the role of Rip Thomas, a renowned heavyweight wrestler who finds himself in a brutal conflict with the head of a competing TV station (although it’s worth noting that this is a streamlined version – please trust me on this).

Hogan pledged to give back his earnings if the film ended up in a financial loss, but since it only made $16 million against an investment of $8 million at the box office, McMahon humorously quipped that the refund might be on its way.

If its poor box office performance didn’t already convince it to stay in the wrestling ring, then its critically panned reviews certainly finished off the film. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a dismal 10% approval rating from critics, but a slightly more favorable 34% rating from audiences.

User A said, “If No Holds Barred isn’t the worst film ever made, then Howard the Duck takes that title.” Meanwhile, User B shared, “No Holds Barred may be a terrible movie now, but as a kid I must have watched it around 19 to 20 times.

Option A: You’re welcome to watch No Holds Barred free on Tubi, or take a look at other fresh movies you can stream this month instead.
