As a seasoned gamer and anime enthusiast, I’ve seen my fair share of twists and turns, but the rollercoaster ride that is Oshi no Ko Season 2 has left me utterly bewildered! Delay after delay, it feels like we’re not just watching an idol anime, but a soap opera behind the scenes.
As a devoted fan of Oshi no Ko, I can’t help but feel let down yet again. The much-anticipated Season 2 has once more failed to deliver on time, leaving fans like me in frustration as another delay looms before the finale.
So far, the second season of Oshi no Ko has been quite tumultuous. Despite receiving high praise for its animation and adaption, the release of episodes this season has encountered various problems.
The newest development involves a further pushback in the schedule for Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 13, now set to air on October 6, 2024, which is four days later than the original planned date of October 2.
Doga Kobo, the studio responsible for the anime series, revealed that Episode 12’s release will be moved to a different date, without giving a reason. Fans speculate that this change might be connected to the possible delay in the airing of Oshi no Ko Season 2 finale until Sunday, due to the premiere of Re:Zero Season 3.
I can hardly contain my excitement! The long-awaited isekai anime is finally set to make its grand debut on October 2, 2024, a Wednesday, during the fall season. The premiere episode will span an impressive 90 minutes, and it’s going to take over the timing slot previously held by Oshi no Ko Season 2, causing it to be rescheduled for Sunday instead. This move only heightens my anticipation for both shows!
Nevertheless, critics are alleging poor scheduling management by the studio, causing two delays within one season. The initial delay for Season 2 occurred before Episode 10, pushing it back an entire week. Additionally, the idol anime experienced a comparable issue during its first season as well.
But these are just conjectures at this point, though fans are still pretty disappointed about this. As one wrote on X, “This delays low-key be p*ssing me off.”
Another user suggested that they believe there might be production problems, mentioning that the Re:Zero Season seemed to have an excessive number of fade-ins and slide shows, which could be causing the delay.
“This week’s installment seemed slower paced than the last one, with some manga scenes narrated instead of acted out, and there appeared to be a drop in quality.” Additionally, “I truly hope they deliver an exceptional finale since it airs during Japan’s prime time.
Despite the delay in airing the final episode of Oshi no Ko Season 2 dampening some viewers’ enthusiasm, there remains a palpable eagerness as they anticipate Episode 13, particularly following the startling reunion witnessed in the last installment.
