Sources: Gentle Mates target world champions to lead first ever CoD League roster

As a long-time follower of Call of Duty esports, I can hardly contain my excitement about the potential lineup for Gentle Mates in the 2025 CDL season! If the rumors are true and they manage to secure KiSMET, Skyz, Priestahh, Lynz, and with DREAL as their coach, we’re looking at a team that could potentially rewrite history.

Based on various reports, the team known as Gentle Mates is aiming to add a title-winning trio and a rising talent to round out their Call of Duty League squad for 2025.

Though Gentle Mates haven’t yet been formally declared as a Call of Duty League (CDL) team, they certainly are in contention for the roster shuffle, having replaced the Los Angeles Guerrillas position.

Initially, they tried to seize control of the super team being assembled by LA Thieves, but found themselves needing to look elsewhere. Instead, they’ve opted for a group of three world champions to launch their Call of Duty League career.

Reports indicate that Gentle Mates are aiming to bring together the 2023 World Champions from the New York Subliners, specifically Matthew ‘KiSMET’ Tinsley, Cesar ‘Skyz’ Bueno, and Preston ‘Priestahh’ Greiner, for their competitive team.

Assuming everything works out, Thomas ‘Lynz’ Gregorio from Minnesota Rokkr might join the team following the completion of a buyout deal with G2, if one is agreed upon.

In the year 2024, KiSMET and Skyz continued to thrive following their Champs victory, even making it to the grand final to defend their title. However, it remains intriguing to observe how they fare against a new European SMG on the field, as opposed to their usual rival, HyDra.

As a gamer, I battled it out on the Boston Breach roster, full of high hopes at the start. However, as the year unfolded, I found myself slowly fading from the team during the Esports World Cup, watching the action from the sidelines instead.

In their current plans, Gentle Mates aim to negotiate with Cloud9 and G2 esports in order to sign their players, while simultaneously securing the coaching services of Ehsan ‘DREAL’ Javed, who previously coached New York. With three out of four world championship team members reunited under him, his goal is to foster a similar culture and winning mindset to help the new team ascend to the top.
