As a long-time gamer and wrestling enthusiast who has followed the WWE for decades, I’m not surprised by Vince McMahon‘s recent antics. It seems like he’s still playing his old “heel” role, trying to manipulate the narrative and deflect blame. But this time, it’s not just about a scripted match or a storyline; it’s about real-life allegations of sexual misconduct, abuse, and trafficking.
Following Vince McMahon’s criticism of the Netflix documentary series “Mr. McMahon” as “misleading,” Janel Grant’s legal representative has retorted, labeling the ex-WWE head as “delusional.
Warning: some may find this content distressing.
The documentary titled “Mr. McMahon,” set to debut on Netflix on September 25, delves into the journey of the wrestling empire’s head honcho – from his rise to his downfall. This production has been underway since 2020; however, when sexual misconduct accusations against McMahon surfaced, the project took a turn in a different direction.
Approximately 200 hours of interviews were carried out prior to the revelation of the scandal, with McMahon among them. Despite this early timing, the documentary series delves into the accusations, lawsuits, and additional allegations of questionable conduct within the WWE.
Prior to its debut, McMahon issued a statement concerning the upcoming true crime series. He alleged that the producers had constructed a “misleading storyline” and that crucial facts had either been distorted or omitted deliberately, resulting in intentional perplexity for viewers.
In order to strengthen their deceptive narrative, the creators present a court case stemming from an old relationship as proof that I am indeed ‘Mr. McMahon.’ I urge the audience to remain objective and recall that each tale has its own perspective.
It seems that when McMahon mentions “the affair,” he’s actually discussing a legal case instigated by ex-WWE employee, Janel Grant. She alleges that McMahon subjected her to sexual abuse and human trafficking during her time with the company.
Among the numerous startling accusations is that “McMahon requested a romantic involvement with Ms. Grant in exchange for long-awaited employment at WWE”, persuaded “people to engage in sexual activities with Ms. Grant or the two of them”, and “defecated on Ms. Grant during a three-way encounter”.
By May 2024, it emerged that Grant had decided to postpone his lawsuit due to an ongoing federal investigation. However, following McMahon’s remarks concerning himself, Grant’s lawyer, Ann Callis, has responded in kind.
In response to Vince McMahon tonight, Ann Callis, legal representative of Janel Grant, a previous WWE employee who is both a survivor of sexual assault and human trafficking, made the following statement:

For over two years, Vince McMahon allegedly subjected Janel Grant to physical and emotional abuse, sexual misconduct, and trafficking – actions that are far beyond the boundaries of an ‘affair.’ Such a description is unrealistic and merely a desperate effort to preserve his severely damaged reputation,” she stated.
Though Ms. Grant hasn’t watched the Mr. McMahon documentary, we expect it to shed significant light on his despicable and unlawful deeds by presenting an authentic depiction of his oppressive and exploitative conduct.
Ms. Grant will no longer be suppressed by McMahon. Her harrowing tale, though it brings great distress, has the power to empower other abuse victims to speak out. Our goal is to bring McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE to justice and ensure that Ms. Grant gets her day in court.
