Tony Hawk Pro Skater Dev Channels Get Refresh, Sparking Fan Theories

For the 25th anniversary, the Tony Hawk Pro Skater social media platforms have received an update, sparking excitement among fans as they eagerly theorize about what might be coming next.

There haven’t been any formal announcements yet, but the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater accounts across X/Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook have undergone a makeover with a logo to celebrate their 25th anniversary (thanks to Eurogamer). Interestingly, all these images now bear a copyright year of 2024. This hints that Activision might have renewed the franchise’s copyright, sparking speculation among fans about a potential remaster of Pro Skater 3 and 4 in the near future.

The latest installment in the series is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, which came out last September (2020). This version brought back the original games with an enhanced create-a-park feature, online multiplayer, and new skaters. Vicarious Visions developed this remake, but they became Blizzard Albany following a merger with the studio behind World of Warcraft and Overwatch. Initially, a remake for THPS 3 + 4 was underway, but it got put on hold to allow Blizzard Albany to assume a support role instead. Since the merge, Blizzard Albany has successfully organized as a union.

In other skating game news, an EA Skate follow-up is in the works. The development team Full Circle showed off changes and improvements to the “Flick-It” system back in June. A release date or window has yet to be announced.
